THE BEST ONES ARE ALWAYS TAKEN

"FC Barcelona is in immense mourning. Tito Vilanova has died at the age of 45. May he rest in peace,"
Last 25 of April Tito Vilanova died at the age of 45. Since 2011 he had a cancer, removed in November 2011, and he had to fight really hard against this difficult illness.
Tito was in Barcelona team since a child and he dedicated all his life to his family and football. Tito Vilanova was known as an incredible person, he was really kind and hard working, and also during a year he was the coach team of the first team in Barcelona.
"The Vilanova family has asked for respect for their desire for the strictest intimacy in the moments after his death."

- Opinion

"Tito and I were young, we wanted to conquer the world and we did. The sadness I feel will accompany me for the rest of my life".
Pep Guardiola.

This is the saddest news of all I have done during these three years of blog. To hear a person who has known around the world and was only 45 year has died is terrifying.
Every day I know more people with cancer and I’m getting really worried, because you never know when it could happen to you.
Tito Vilanova stant out in his professional career as a coach, but he also has been recognized to be someone really attentive and a person who won’t be forgotten.
Rest in Pace, Tito.

News (Human Rights)

“Tens of thousands of children every day are in immigration detention around the world”.

In this news we can know more about terrible things which are happening right now and we are not aware of it. It talks about a story of a family from Bangkok and who have lived some horrible situations about children immigration and sexual abuses.
Every day there are a lot of children who are arrested from their houses without any contact with anybody, either with their parents and family.  We’re talking about children who are under 15 and availed to be abused and forced to work illegally.

- Opinion

I can’t understand how cruel people could be with children around the world. Every day on the news we can heard or read some attack or violation to children and this is insane.
Children are innocent and they can't imagine what they could receive from cruel people.
What I have read on this news is really terrifying, is the experience of one mother whose child was arrested for two years. She dreamt with him every day and she couldn’t talk to him, this is a nightmare for a mother.
“No torture and no violation”, these are two important human rights everybody had and sadly not everybody respect them. We hope on time we could see some changes in our society without any war and violence.

"#BringBackOurGirls"

On 14 of April some girls were taken from their school in Chibok (Nigeria), and on this news we can see how American Government wants to fight and help them.  There are more than 200 kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls and they are violated and forced to do cruel things.

Lady Michelle Obama for example is someone who is organizing campaigns to help people from these poor countries, who are arrested.
"#BringBackOurGirls" is the hastag from the slogan on the BBC's Andrew Marr show. There is a lot of support from America there are a lot of campaigns to finish with this type of situations which are around the world. Mr Cameron tweeted: "Proud to support #BringBackOurGirls."

- My opinion

It’s really terrible to read on the news poor people are arrested, and that there are more than 200 kidnapped only in Nigeria. But well, now we’re talking about Nigerian people, but unluckily there are thousands countries more living this situation.

During this term we’ve talking about Human Rights, and with this news we can see how million of people haven’t got some of these rights. For me, it’s really sad but we have to be aware that it’s really difficult to finish with this type of things.

Indian headshakes

During this week has been uploaded a video that has got an awesome viwer on Youtube. It was made by Paul Mathew, a writer and director from India. On the video we can see how Mathew shows the peculiar way they act and especially, the Indian headshakes they make to answer any questions, how they react in a situation, etc... For example, she explains the headshakes they make to say: “yes”, “no”, “thanks”, “maybe”, “what’s up”, ...

He says that she didn’t expect to have this popularity because there is something to improve on the video. It’s named "Indian Headshakes, what do they mean", and on it we can see two men acting. And about the reviews which are about the video; most people thinks it’s original and reflects the reality.

- MY OPINION

From my point of view, I think this video isn’t so original as most people think.  On the one hand, it’s funny how they act and what they say, but on the other hand I think all the headshakes have been exaggerated and with some comic effects, as Mathew admits.
Even though, I think it could be a popular idea and project around the world.

Tough EU smoking rules approved

One of the most important and dangerous problem we have in our society is the smoking.  Yesterday, the European Union approved a legislation in order to decrease the number of the people who smock in United Kingdom, concretely.

An alarming number of deaths which are caused by the smoking have to make us think about the really negative effects it could cause. The European Union estimated that 700.000 is the number which shows us how many deaths are caused across the EU by smoking.

This legislation includes some rules like: put some pictures covering the packets of cigarettes, a ban on a mental, fruit or vanilla cigarettes, or a ban on promotion elements which aren’t saying the truth.

Especially, the European Union wants to reduce the number of teenagers which begin to smoke really early and this is an alarming and so prejudicial thing we have to consider.  It’s really important because it an issue that concerns the whole world and we have to pay attention with people’s health.
On the news, it is said that this legislation will be introduced in two years.

- MY OPINION

On one hand and as all we know, smoking is a really dangerous addiction that a lot of people are affected by. Nowadays, I think that people begins to smoke so early, most of them being influenced by their friends or another people around them, and for example I want to add that I know people who are under 15 and they smoke every day.

On the other hand, I want to say that I think to smoke sometimes (not every day and for example in some moments you want to be relaxed) it’s not a really bad thing, and also everybody can try it once. But even though, there are some people who after trying it one day, then they can’t help to stop smoking in their live, and this is the main problem.

Facebook to buy messaging app WhatsApp for $19bn

Last week Facebook, the most important social networking service, grew up. It bought WhatsApp, it cost about 19.000 dollars and this decision was known around the world.

WhatsApp  is also recognized as an important social networking, but it’s more used in Europe than in America, for example. And this was one of the reasons Facebook did the inversion, it’s because now more people around the world will use WhatsApp. It’s important to add that WhatsApp offers a free service avoing to pay fees, even though there is also some people who pay 1$ per year in order to use this service.

On the other hand, the co-founder of WhatsApp will be member of Facebook’s group of directors. And they think that it’s not essential to make advertisements about text messing systems because it won’t be useful.

- MY OPION

About this news I have to say I’m really interested about it. Why? Well, mainly because I’m a user of WhatsApp and Facebook and I agree that as the time goes by Facebook is losing users and WhatsApp is being more used.

On one hand and in my opinion, years ago I used Facebook a lot and everybody did it, it was something really new that everyone was fascinated with. Now, it’s true there is a lot of people using it too, but this number of users has decreased.

On the other hand I want to talk about something which is an important thing to consider because it could be prejudicial for a lot of people. I’m talking about the privacy, because it’s said that now, when WhatsApp has been bought by Facebook, there will be less privacy with the chats, and everything shared in the social media. So, be careful and informated about the privacy system.

Obesity quadruples to nearly one billion in developing world

North America is still the country that has the highest percentage of overweight adults, specifically at 70%, but nowadays there are more and more cases of obesity around the world. For example, in North Africa, the Middle East and Latin America the percentage is increasing.

The majority of this increase has been in countries which are developed, because people can eat food that they like. The ODI’s future diets report says that a lot of people have changed their diets to consume more fats, sugar, oils and animal produce.

Experts say that the case of this increase was that living in urban centers and to be so much worried about work, people don’t take much physical exercise and that’s the most important problem we have nowadays.

MY OPINION

In my point of view to talk about overweight is not easy. There are a lot of people who have really problems with obesity and it’s not their fault. They have to learn to live with it because it’s something they have born with. Even though, there are also a lot of people who don’t take care about their selves and don’t think about all the problems they will have in the future. They eat all they want and they are getting out of shape and losing vitality.

“The number of overweight and obese adults in the developing world has almost quadrupled to around one billion since 1980”, says a report from UK and I think we have to be worried about it because that’s something really dangerous for our health.

Michael Schumacher, former F1 champion, critical after ski fall

Last 30 of December in the French Alps, especially in the French ski resort of Meribel, it took place an accident of Michael Schumacher.
He’s in critical conditions after to fall mean he was skiing with his son. He wore helmet but his head hit against a rock and he suffered a brain trauma.

"He suffered a severe head injury with coma on arrival, which required immediate neurosurgical intervention.” Said a medical of the Hospital of Grenoble where is Michael Schumacher.
He was attended by two persons of sky patrol, which is the largest winter organization in the world.

Most of the F1 drivers from the entire world were in shock when they listened the news and they noticed the accident. Michael Schumacher is the seven-time Formula 1 champion and he’s well known around the world by his records and all he won.

MY OPINION

To hear that someone like Michael Schumacher is in coma and in critical conditions is really horrible. Well, to hear something like this of anyone is horrible too… But Schumacher, as I said before, is recognized around the world and now his conditions are really alarming.

He’s 44 years old, in his life has beat records and has won important races. This way the whole world is expecting how he’s and if he can get better.

Santa's helper shot on toy giveaway in Washington

On 24 of December a Santa Claus’s helper was shot in Washington. Mean he was with a group of children who were waiting for some presents and sweets; somebody shot him in the back.
“Somebody shot me in the back…, I think somebody shot me with a pellet gun.” he shouted out. Luckily, a TV crew recorded the moment and the police have more possibilities to discover what happened.
It took place just in the moment when he was saying “Merry…” he couldn’t finished the sentence because it was when someone shot him.

MY OPINION

Well, I think it’s really sad to read on the news that in these days when everything is magic and everybody is so happy, someone wants to do such an horrible thing like shut a man who’s dressed as a Santa.
For the children who were amazed to be in front of someone who’s the helper of Santa Claus and to see that he’s shot, I think it’s like a trauma or something like this… XD. It’s really sad…

Why the French are turning to fast food

Food in France is really appreciated, and there are some of the important restaurants which are well known around the world.

But nowadays, 54% of total restaurants are becoming fast food and sandwich shops because people don’t want to spend a lot of money with food. There is the example of Balthazar de la Boude who opened a sandwich shop four years ago and he said that the crisis had been what has caused this change.

A lot of people prefer to eat in an ordinary restaurant paying a low cost than to go to a good qualified and at the same time expensive one. Also, there are a lot of people who prefers to eat in the office and to don’t waste time at work.

On the other hand, the prices on the fast food restaurants have raised but it doesn't seem to affect the level of business.

MY OPINION

It’s true that sometimes we prefer to go to a fast food restaurant than to an expensive and well known one. Maybe because we are living a bad economic moment and we’re looking for cheap prices, or maybe because of the time.

We live in a stressed world and everybody wants to do their issues in a minimum time as possible. During the week, we don’t have time to go to a restaurant and sit down for a long time for eat, so we prefer to eat fast and in a cheap way.

All in all, I think it’s not such a strange thing to read this type of news, but I agree fast food restaurants are not good for the health.

Body piercing controls wheelchair

A group of American scientist has come up with an incredible idea. The development is about the control of the movement of that kind of people who can’t walk or haven’t a normal life. They think they can transform the way people who has a paralysis live.

Body piercings have been the solution, because it could be the way to control wheelchairs and computers. Especially they talk about the tongue piercings, because they think they the tongue it’s an amazing part of the body and a piercings on it could get important solutions.

The researchers believe they will be able to have a command for every tooth in the mouth. They say the piercing in the tongue produces an effect that changes the tongue movement.

MY OPINION

Every day I’m more and more fascinated by a huge number of scientists and researchers can get these impressive things. It’s really amazing how far they can go with the science and how many solutions they can discover.

It’s not easy to find out something like what I have talked about, and I think we have to be so thankful to those groups of doctors and professionals who are working hard to solve some problems nowadays we have in our society.

Protective measures are a 'death sentence' for rare dolphin say campaigners

Last 30 November of 2013, it was told that one of the world’s smallest and rarest type dolphins needs an extremely protection. It’s an important breed, even though there is a lot of people who isn’t conscious about that and they try to capture the animals.

Days ago some scientist found that there were approximately 55 Maui's left (it’s the name of the dolphin breed) above the age of one. This news is really alarming because it shows that the Maui's could be extinct within 20 years.

Maui’s dolphins are known to habit on the coast of New Zealand, but there, there is a huge number of people who goes there to fishing. But the New Zealand government has decided to make new restrictions on this activity.
“New Zealand's failure to protect the world's smallest and rarest dolphin is a bitter blow to marine conservation”, said Dr Barbara Maas.

MY OPINION

I think one of the worst things the humans can do is to destroy what we have on earth. I can’t imagine being a person who only want to get what he or she wants, without to think about the consequences or just about what can get hurt.

Hearing this type of news for me it’s horrible and I can’t express what I feel. It’s something I get really upset about, even I can’t do anything. Well, I suppose I can do something, at least I can inform around the world and to make everybody to be noticed about that. Luckily there are a big number of associations and groups which are doing this task really well.

A new menu

A group of creative cooks like Michelin or David Faure offers an alternative menu in some of their restaurants in Paris. They have wanted to introduce in the current gastronomic world some insects as food.
They have found some new sources of food where, for example, scorpions are the protagonist. To have an idea, these are some examples of what they offer in the restaurant; water scorpion with preserved peppers and black garlic, or grasshopper with quail's eggs. Most of the material and the insects come from Thailand.
They don’t want to use the insects as sauce; they want to make snacks with them where we can appreciate the taste, the textures and the colors of these animals. To eat this kind of menu it’s not cheap, because every snack costs 10€, even though they have succeeded.

MY OPINION

I have chosen this news to talk about it because I found it really amazing. I can’t believe how a person can eat insects, or what’s more, to pay money to eat a scorpion with some sauces… I haven’t eaten nothing like that, and I think I won’t ever do it.

I know it depends on the culture, because there are some other cultures really different from ours and some countries where they use to eat insects every day, like we eat tomatoes or meat (for example). Even though, I think it’s one of the worse think you can eat in your life, it’s really disgusting…  I know some people who have travelled to Thailand, for example, and they have tasted it. There, it's a typical food and everybody who lives in this country eat it as a meal.

To final I want say that they also use pate de foie gras for some of the meals, which for me it's really funny and shocking.

Typhoon Haiyan: Philippines destruction "absolute bedlam"

An awesome typhoon named Haiyan arrived in Philippines on Monday. It had been described as "absolute bedlam” because it caused approximately more than 10.000 dead people.  Also, there are more than nine million people who were struggling to get something to eat or drink.

A lot of people are lost too, and they were looking for food or clean water to survive. Many of roads, houses, buildings or airports had been damaged. For example, a big building was shattered in the middle of the city where there were a high number of people, caused a lot of important damages.

Philippines is living a terrible situation which, nowadays, is known around the world. Some countries, like Spain, are organizing some campaigns to recollect food and everything which is really necessary for people of Philippines who lost their house and all belongings. Also, US military personnel help and try to get goods for Tacloban.

MY OPINION

To hear some bad news about this kind of topics is really terrifying. What people of Philippines are living is incredible; death people around the ground and houses it’s just one of the worst things a person can live in life.

Days after Typhoon Haiyan, aerial photos showed the devastation along Philippines and how everything was shattered and devastated.
I think if it would happen here it would be more terrorific because we aren’t prepared enough to live one of these situations.

Hanna Montana is dead

The last VMA (Video Music Awards) was focused in Miley Cyrus. Her performance was really surprising; she wore amazing clothes which were really judged by everyone and she didn’t act how everybody expected. During the performance her tongue was wagging all the time. Even though she is not sorry concerned about it, after the VMA she said:
"I don't apologize for my VMAs performance. If I owe anybody an apology, it's the people who make the bottom half of shirts. There are a few subjects I'm not going to get into tonight: I'm not going to do Hannah Montana, but I can give you an update. She was murdered."
With these words it’s easy to think that she likes to act out on the stage.
Some ages ago, Miley was an actress of Disney and the idol of thousands of girls around the world; actually, most of them are really disappointed after this situation.

MY OPINION

Personally, I have to say that I wasn’t this kind of girl who had all her bathroom with posters of Hanna Montana, but I knew who she was,  a pop star loved by everyone. It’s really confusing how a person can change radically with only one or two years, but it’s not surprising when we are talking about young famous people. I think when they are (or they suppose to be) at the top, they lose their control and they do things like Miley has done. In my opinion, her performance was unpleasant and I don’t think that it was correct, she was really rude.
All in all, what I think it’s wrong from her is what she said after the performance and when she saw everybody was against her. The best thing that she had to do was be sorry and excuse her, but she didn't do anything correct.
